Like all natural wonders of the world, the best time to see a park is when you arrive. Three places in where timing is key for picture perfect photots are teh Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, and Horseshoe Bend.
Horseshoe bend, located not too far from Page Az, has an overlook that is placed about 1,000 ft above the flowing Colorado River that meanders its way through the bend and eventually into the Grand Canyon. This gem is a good place to visit anytime of the day for its unique beauty. But, if you want the right lighting, some say morning to midday is the best time to go and take pictures. At sunset, or just before, the sun is in your eyes and the bend is in the shadows.
This wonderful area has a small distance to trek from the parking lot to the overlook itself, but well worth the hike. The trail itself can be a bit sandy in some parts and have an incline in steepness, and during the summer days it can reach up to triple digits so plan and dress accordingly when you visit and remember to drink plenty of water.
As for Lower and Upper Antelope Canyon, the best months to go, some say, are between the end of March and early October. Within this time you will be able to see the V shape walls of Lower Antelope Canyon light up with its different hues of orange, red and brown. As for the Upper Antelope Canyon, during this time the sun light makes its way through the A shaped canyon creating beams of light throughout the canyon.
The Grand Canyon, North of Flagstaff Az, is a must see for everyone that visits or is just passing through the great state of Arizona. With it attracting more than 5 million people a year the Grand Canyon is best known for its never ending natural beauty and wonder it gives all who visits. It also has some of the best sunrises and sunsets one can witness. Best time to get the full experience is an hour before sunset and moments after sunrise. The Walls of the canyon dramatically light up in an abundance of various colors that just take your breath away and makes for a perfect picture.
